The Miracle Family: Faith, Family, and Football

Living in Westfield’s Countryside subdivision, the Miracle family is all about community, sports, and spending time together. Josh and Renee, along with their kids Myles (6), Brock (5), and Mac (2), are an active and involved bunch. Josh and Renee’s paths crossed in college through the Cru college ministry. Josh was at Wabash College, and Renee was at the University of Indianapolis. They hit it off at a conference and got married in July 2012 in Renee’s hometown of Bremen, IN. Their best memories are simply spending time with family, whether it’s holiday gatherings or summer barbecues. Renee pursued her passion for helping others by earning a degree in Exercise Science from the University of Indianapolis, followed by a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from
Indiana University. She currently works as a physical therapist for Westfield Schools, focusing on preschoolers at the Virginia F. Wood Early Learning Center. Renee finds great joy in helping young children thrive in the school setting. Josh, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wabash College, has dedicated his career to Westfield High School. Since 2011, he has taught AP Psychology, Mentoring and Leadership, Sports Psychology, and Economics. His commitment to education and his students is unwavering. Additionally, Josh has been a key figure in the high school football program, starting as the Defensive Coordinator and now serving as the Head Football Coach. His mentor, Coach Jake Gilbert, has had a significant impact on his coaching style and philosophy.

“Jake and the Gilbert family have mentored our family and impacted us (and countless others) tremendously,” says Josh. “I’m honored to follow in Jake’s footsteps. It is a privilege to work alongside such an outstanding staff that pours all their heart into developing the young men and women in our football program. To us, coaching football is more than just a game; it is our family ministry and an absolute joy to impact the lives of these young adults!” The Miracle family is passionate about sports. They are avid supporters of the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Purdue basketball, and Notre Dame football. The family also loves cheering on the Westfield Shamrocks. Their weekends are often spent watching games together, fostering a shared love for athletics. They attend Northview Church’s Westfield Campus, where they have been active members for 12 years.
