Rounding out the crew are three lovable dogs who add plenty of joyful chaos to the Moore household. Lucky (11) and Winter (7), both soft-coated Wheaten Terriers, have been longtime companions, while their newest addition, Gus—a 5-month-old Bouvier des Flandres puppy—is keeping everyone on their toes with his playful energy.
When it comes to work and education, John and Whitney have each paved impressive paths. John holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and an MBA, along with a transition-to-teaching certificate and an Indiana State Administrator’s License—all from Indiana Wesleyan and Saint Joseph’s University. He now teaches Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Westfield High School, is co-owner of Moore Consulting, and even moonlights as Santa Claus each holiday season.
Whitney owns Whitney Moore Media, co-owns Moore Consulting, and works as a Learning Center Assistant at WHS, where she also advises the sewing club. With a background in Communications and Early Childhood Development, Whitney has a true passion for helping young people discover their voice, creativity, and confidence. Her photography business, based out of Westfield, focuses on capturing authentic moments and supports her belief in growing the arts within the community.
After living in Westfield for many years, the Moores moved into the Monon Corner subdivision about a year and a half ago. They were drawn in by the beautiful amenities—pickleball courts, dog parks, ponds, and trails—but they’ve stayed because of the people. “Our neighbors have been amazing,” Whitney says. “There’s a lot of diversity, and many people here are new to the area, so we’ve been able to connect over that.” In fact, community runs so deep for the Moores that John’s sister and her family, as well as his parents, now live just a short walk away.
Involvement in the community is a natural part of their family life. They attend St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, all of their children have participated in WYSI sports, and John and Whitney have both volunteered extensively with organizations like Westfield Youth Sports, Westfield Youth Assistance, and Women of Westfield. John also serves as the coach for Unified Flag Football and Unified Track at WHS, advises student government, and leads clubs like Shark Tank and Rock Shop. Whitney’s passion for building a strong and creative Westfield shows through in her involvement with WHS students, her photography, and her advocacy for more arts opportunities and diversity as the city continues to grow.
Of course, not every chapter of their story has been easy. When Jayden was just eight years old, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer—a moment that changed their lives forever. But with the love and support of the Westfield community, they made it through. Today, Jayden has been cancer-free for eight years. Inspired by their journey, the family began fundraising for Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, recently reaching their goal of $50,000 to build “Jayden’s Mermaid Room,” a specially designed space for young patients to escape and dream a little during tough treatments.
Through every experience—the highs, the challenges, the new beginnings—the Moores have lived by a simple family motto: “Good or bad, you’re not in this life alone. If you’re not paying it back, you should be paying it forward.” It’s this mindset that shines through whether they’re mentoring young athletes, helping a neighbor, or simply waving hello at a community event.
Travel is another important part of life for the Moores. They love to explore new places together, especially throughout New England—Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, and New York rank high among their favorites. Each summer, they also take an extended family trip somewhere warm, creating new memories that strengthen their already close-knit relationships.
As for everyday life, you’ll often find them at local sporting events, walking the dogs along the trails, or trying out a new local restaurant as a family. They’re proud to call Westfield home—a place where community, opportunity, and strong relationships truly matter.
Their message is simple and heartfelt: “Westfield is one of the best places in the country to raise a family. We love meeting new people. If you see us out and about, please come say hello!”
