“I take a lot of pride in my work, and give all I have to it while making sure I take care of myself in the midst of it all.” She’s built a fulfilling community connection through the West Carmel Westfield Meet a Mom Association (WCW MAMAs). “When I first started
staying home, I knew I needed a supportive community,” she explains. “Joining WCW MAMAs in 2018 gave me that, and now, as the President, I love giving back to a group that offers everything from playdates to volunteer events for moms.”
The Roses’ connection to their neighbors in Springmill Crossing is another cherished part of their life. They describe it as “the type of community people dream of,” where neighbors come together for holidays, birthdays, and even impromptu pitch-in dinners
while the kids play. “Our neighbors are like family,” Stephanie shares, “always ready to help with a house project or just celebrate together.”
With five children, the Rose household is always buzzing. Their school-aged kids attend The Classical Academy in Fishers, where they enjoy a unique mix of on-campus and home-based learning. Their preschoolers spend their mornings at Faith Montessori in Westfield, and each season, the kids try out new activities like baseball, swimming, dance, and even ninja class. “We keep it to one activity per season,” Stephanie says, “because time at home to just play is a huge priority for us. We joke that our kids are ‘free range,’ we really try to let their imaginations run wild with their projects. They all work together to build and create really incredible games, inventions, buildings, etc.”
The family loves to attend a lot of the community events in Westfield and Carmel – Late Night on Main, the Egg Drop and 4th of July festivities at Grand Park, movies at Midtown, Farmers markets, and more. They utilize the Monon trail and the parks every
week. While the Roses adore their neighborhood and town, they’ve also carved out a second happy place at their lake house on Cordry Lake in Brown County. Nearly every weekend from spring through fall, the family can be found there, making memories. “We love sharing this spot with our friends and family. It’s filled with memories that will last a lifetime! One of my favorites was this summer. Nick reminded me it was our 10 year first date anniversary. We celebrated with a water gun fight on the dock and in the water floats; the kids and me against Nick! We sang karaoke on the diving board, danced around and acted silly, yelling to passing boats that it was our anniversary. The day was filled with so much laughter and pure joy. It was a moment of love where our entire family celebrated where it all started. Another highlight this summer was bringing baby Archer there for the first time.” Their story took a bittersweet turn in 2023 when Stephanie experienced an ectopic regnancy that ruptured. “It was traumatic, naturally, but the love and support of our family and friends eased the pain,” she shares. Remarkably, in late December, the week heir baby was originally due, they discovered they were expecting again. “It was a beautiful moment that felt like it was straight from God,” Stephanie says. They shared the news with their children on Christmas Eve and surprised their families on Christmas, welcoming the joy of baby Archer into their lives months later.
Their family motto, “This is tough, but I can do it!” speaks volumes about their approach to life. It’s a saying that Nick and Stephanie hope will remind their kids to embrace life’s challenges with resilience and faith. “We teach our kids from a really young age that it’s normal for things to be tough, and that is no indication that they can’t do it! God gives us strength to do all things, so keep on trying and stay positive,” Stephanie explains. “Over the years, Nick and I have found ourselves saying this little motto to each other, and it really has begun to be a staple when in difficult times.” Through all the highs and lows, the Rose family remains dedicated to each other, their faith, and their tight-knit neighborhood. As Stephanie puts it, “Lean into your community —whether it’s asking for an ingredient you forgot or just a helping hand. It’s these little connections that truly create a bond you can rely on.”
